Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Dovey, and I am a crazy cat lady. Well, in fairness, I am a crazy animal lady. More on that later.
What is Cat People Jewelry?
Cat People Jewelry is the combination of two of my passions, cats and jewelry. It is a place where other cat fanatics or the people who love them can go to find reviews on the best cat-themed jewelry the online world has to offer.
It is a store that offers the latest in cat jewelry trends. A place where customer can buy with confidence, knowing that they are buying from a trusted site. A site that is dedicated to them and still believes in old fashion customer service.
Lastly, it is a place where even the non-cat people can get help picking out the purfect present for the cat lover in their life — a site where they can ask questions and get reliable answers without fear and ridicule.
It is a place where we can be the crazy cat people we are without feeling any shame or judgment. So go ahead and fawn over the adorable kitten picture, plan the trip to take your fluffy soulmate to see the biggest ball of yarn, and buy ten pairs of cat earrings because you just could not decide. You are free to be yourself here.
How Did Cat People Jewelry Come To Be?
Well, that has been a journey, to say the least. I have spent the last seventeen or so years of my life as a stay at home mom. I did many work-from- home jobs but never really loved any of them.
I am a writer and always have been. I have been writing for years for my own personal amusement. Although I have published a poem or two, most of my writing sits on old hard drives. Being a full-time mother and wife, I never had the time to invest in my writing.
I would get started on my book to have my kids or husband need my attention. My book would get set to the side with the promise that I would pick up writing it again as soon as I handled whatever needed my attention.
I am sure you can guess what happened.
So, now the kids are grown, and my husband’s career is stable. It is time to focus on me, and what this next chapter of my life will hold. Then I learned through a platform called Wealthy Affiliate that I could combine my love of writing and making money.
Now, my writing is not sterile enough to be professional. You know, magazine-type writing. But I learned through my Wealthy Affiliate training that it did not have to be, I could write in my own voice and still be a blogger. And so here I am. Now, came the problem of what to write about.
All the articles I have read, all the training I attended said to pick a niche you are passionate about. Well, other than my husband and my kids, I was not sure if I even had a ‘passion.’ I had a list of things I know about and a longer list of things I was interested in but passionate? Nope.
So I asked my husband to list the top three things he thought I had the most passion for. Here is his list:
Well, he was right. After thinking about it, those are my top three passions in the correct order. Well, I did not want to write a sex blog, so that was out. Not that there is anything wrong with a sex blog, I was looking for something that my family could land on without me having to give them a warning beforehand.
Family can be broken down into some exciting niches, but honestly, I only am passionate about my family. But animals, I could write forever on animals. After all, I am a crazy animal lady (Told you, we would come back to that.)
I have owned various beasts. I have been a pet mother of cats, birds, dogs, several kinds of rodents, a turtle, fish, and even a ball python named Sugar Cookie. So, now, I had to choose which animal to focus my blog on.
It was not an easy choice by any means. But I eventually decided on cats. From there, I had to choose what aspect of cat ownership I wanted to highlight; obviously, I decided pride, and how I was going to do it. I knew I wanted to make money from it, hence why I am an affiliate marketer and why there is a shop.
But more then that, I wanted to give people a fun place to visit on the internet. A place they could escape from all the spam, scammers, and hate. I believe I have.
So What Now?
For now, I will continue to add new content and grow the blog until every cat lover in the world hangs out here to destress and find peace.
And it is only fair to take a moment to introduce my inspiration. In my posts, I reference my personal cats a lot. Currently, I have two, Olivia the One-Eyed Rescue, and Honey Mittens the Cuddly Tabby. I often reference my Gizmo, who was my cat soulmate.
Feel free to use my contact me page if you ever want to get a hold of me. It can be for any reason, even if it is just to say “Hello.” Also, I encourage you all to leave comments; comments will help us grow as a community.
Also, connect with me on my social media. I would love to hear from you, and you can be one of the first to learn about new content. I also offer what I call ‘Social Media Sales.’ That is where I offer coupons for my shop to my different social media followings.
